Falling Leaves Cowl
I totally fell in love with the oak leaf cable design from knittingfool.com and had to make it into something, and I’ve been admiring wimples and cowls lately. So, here’s the pattern. This is made with a sport weight yarn or a sock weight yarn to be nice and warm, but not too heavy. This yarn weight is perfect to show the complexities of the cable design, but not so heavy to be stiff. A variegated color is perfect with this falling leaf design.
The cable designs are relatively easy to knit, but I’m rating this pattern as experienced because you really need to know how to read your knitting in order to keep the patterns aligned.

Garden Party Hat

A surprise pattern for you this week! I submitted this pattern to Knitty, but Amy Singer, the editor didn't have enough room in this issue for it. So, that means I am free to release it to you! I think you'll love it!
When my daughter was just a baby, I saw these hats all over the place made in a soft t-shirt fabric and dozens of blossoms sewn on, probably by hand. What mother of a baby has time for that? I figured there had to be a better way. Well, I am a rocket scientist, so, I decided that it could be knit and that the flowers could be knit into the fabric as you go. Through trial and error, I discovered the flowers could be knitted in just like beads.
Lace Topper is now available!
It’s here! the Lace Topper is available through the webstore! I love this topper. It’s going to become one of my new favorites! I’m really glad that I made this more tunic length than a shorter poncho length. It’s far more versatile that way.
