Yarn
Mmmmm....green beans
Today, I went to the farmer's market and picked up a few things. Twelve quarts of green beans (in my pressure canner now), a couple pounds of fresh cashew butter, some steaks, and of course, some yarn. I found two skeins of Weatherd T Ranch yarn. I got a couple of skeins (250 yd ea) of laceweight alpaca in a natural color. I am not sure what I'll do with it, but I have tucked it away safely in my stash room for the moment when inspiration strikes. I'm currently working on another Flapotis for my sister's birthday. It's in Touch Me in a deep purple. I can hardly wait for it to be felted!
Christmas Yarn Shopping
I love shopping, and when it's for yarn, I love it even more! I went to A Likely Yarn in Abingdon, VA yesterday and picked up a few skeins of some local yarns. I got two natural skeins of wool from Grandview Farm in Abingdon. These are such wonderful, natural wools. The lanolin is still fresh and it smells so fabulous. They aren't super soft wools, but I am thinking they will make something wonderful.
I also got some sock yarn from Blue Ridge Yarns. Two 50g skeins of Highlight, a tencel/merino sock yarn in the colorway "Virginia Creeper" and a 100g skein of Bambie, a merino/bamboo sock yarn. It's in the colorway "Spanish Moss." I am looking forward to knitting with these beautiful yarns.
New spinning class on July 19
Well, I've been wanting to start spinning for a while, and I finally took the plunge. Without the need to be making products for craft shows, I am able to spend more time learning new skills to share. I'd love to have you join me for this fun class. It's on July 19 from 1-4PM. Learn more and sign up in my webstore.
The yarn is here...
Well, my sock yarn has arrived! Here's a pic:

It's gorgeous, and quite nice yarn (and cheap, too). I am looking forward to knitting this sweater, but unfortunately, the needles I need are currently engaged in knitting a sweater for Mitch. Once I get that one done, I'm looking forward to starting this one.
